silly question: silver or black M-P (240)

Hi,

first of all, apologies for the silly question, but on a 5k price tag this might require some subjective discussion.

I'm on the market for a new/second hand M-P (240) but somehow struggling with the choice of color. I own and love a M6 & M8 which both are black on black. All my lenses are also black. However somehow I am intrigued by the silverness and the fact that it reminds me in distant to an M3(or 2). However somehow when using uncle google for research I always end up finding the black version as if thats the more common combo (due to the black lenses?).

What is the crowds opinion? What do you suggest...

thanks for the feedbacks

Silver, cos it's shiny.

Oh no wait, black cos it's beautiful.

Wait, wait, Safari cos it's unusual.

Perhaps silver after all, it's not only shiny, it's classic.

Or would black be better; while beautiful it's also discrete.

But that safari... unusual AND looks better than it does in the photo.

This is a difficult choice, I wonder what customisation options there are. That might narrow it down.

Maybe for street photography, black does not draw as much attention as the silver one. All the rest is a matter of  personal taste.

The best thing is to get the camera/lens painted to match your own skin tone, that way it becomes invisible when you hold it to your eye.

There is no rational answer to decisions on the colour of the camera and lenses. In my case I prefer silver because that was the colour of my first leica I bought about 40 years ago. It was a second hand M2 and I still regret selling it though I am sure that I would not go back to using film.

Black is less attention grabbing and more subtle. This is a desirable feature for travel and street photography.

However some types of photography benefit from a more noticeable and high profile camera. Ie, fashion. Events. Where people want to be noticed by high quality cameras.

That's an excellent idea.  I was thinking about using makeup like street mimes, but that doesn't solve the silver-or-black dilemma.

I do not know why there is even a confusion here.

This is a very pertinent question and deserves an honest and truthful reply.

The correct answer is BLACK

(Note: Others who are giving incorrect answers are simply too much in love with their cameras and not able to see the right answer) :)
