Advertisement Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Hi hoppyman, Take a look here a little studio glamour with the S2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
robert_parker Posted June 19, 2015 Share #2 Posted June 19, 2015 (edited) Hi Geoff I'm not sure about the facial expression or the pose in the first image but love both in the second, as well as the creative theme of the red running through both images Edited June 19, 2015 by robert_parker
hoppyman Posted June 19, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted June 19, 2015 (edited) HI! and thanks Robert. These are from a pin up glamour set, which is the reason for the nearly "cheesecake" retro glamour style (including more retouching than I like to use) of the first image. Every photog that has seen these has made a similar comment because the second is a technically more pleasing image for our demographic maybe ;-)I'll share some more that photogs can be happy with ;-) Edited June 19, 2015 by hoppyman
stuny Posted June 19, 2015 Share #4 Posted June 19, 2015 Very lovely studio work, but of the two I prefer the simple background and lighting of the first. On a purely personal taste issue, she is not my type.

On a purely personal taste issue, she is not my type. Thanks Stuart, I'm glad that you liked them. On a personal note you probably aren't the model's type either

hoppyman Posted June 25, 2015 Author Share #10 Posted June 25, 2015 Thanks for looking and commenting Neil. Maybe not the most socially sensitive compliment to the model ;-) The two lenses that I have are the 70 with the central shutter and the APO Macro Summarit 120 without the central shutter (because it was about HKD 10,000 less when both on promotional pricing last year). The central shutter of course allows for higher flash sync speeds but for studio flash I haven't felt disadvantaged by the slightly lower speed. I use 1/180th and 1/125th. Depending on the brands, synch may not be reliable at higher than 1/180th in any case with some wireless triggers and flashes. The timing could be adjusted of course if its equipment you own or can access regularly. For sure both lenses produce superbly detailed images when I do my part. Your eyes might bleed if you looked at the unretouched raw files at 1:1 ;-)What is equally noticeable is the smoothness, increased dynamic range and very natural colour rendition as well as accurate auto white balance. I used to use my M in the studio previously and now it is almost completely idle, waiting for next trip or whatever. Here is the finished gallery from that project if you wanted to browse.http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman/sjn
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted June 25, 2015 Share #11 Posted June 25, 2015 Wow Geoff you got some fantastic shots there........................ I've 99.9% made the deal with my mate in KL for the S with the 70mm (none CS) Kit lens. I wanted the 70mm CS the same as you have but seeing as Leica have the special on with that kit lens I might as well take it as the body with or without the lens is the same price I will also get either the 120mm CS Macro or a wide angle 24 or 30mm when I pick up the camera......unfortunately I cant afford them both right now so it will be one or the other. I am thinking 120mm first as I want that for my studio work but I am going on a photo trip back to the UK at the end of August so the wide angle would be great for that, so struggling to get my head around what to get first All in all I am really excited about getting the new S and looking forward to posting up some pictures. Sorry about the soft breast thing..............I was just trying to say how sharp the pictures were :)
