bernie.lcf Posted June 16, 2015 Share #1 Posted June 16, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) If you are looking for a Neopren case for the Leica Q: Optech USA Softpouch Digital D Series D-Midsize (the model that is recommended for Olympus OM-D E-M1 cameras) Quite a nice fit. Leaves about 2cm in the front part, but overall fit is very good. Unlike some Leica branded Neopren cases, this one does not come with a logo (you can get an iron on Leica logo on ETSY if you insist) and uses press buttons rather than velcro (which I prefer). There is no Optech Logo on the case - this is good carrying your Leica Q without people noticing and for putting the camera in a backpack for example. Sells for EUR 48 in Vienna. You can fit the Q in the Leica neopren case for Vlux1. This will have a Leica logo :-) but the case is actually too long and looks a little stupid. Welcome, dear visitor! bernie.lcf Posted June 19, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted June 19, 2015 There are two models: d-midsize and d-midsize zoom. The zoom model is way too large, the other one is ariund 2cm longer in the front with the Q lens hood installed
digitalfx Posted June 19, 2015 Share #6 Posted June 19, 2015 This is the one I ordered, it doesn't say zoom: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GLHDH6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01
bernie.lcf Posted June 19, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted June 19, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well, I am sorry it doesn't fit your purpose. I am not bothered by those 2 or so cm (Q with both hood and cap installed) because I have a pouch about that size that I store cards and some lens cleaner in. I just drop this inside the case and the camera on top is a good fit.
digitalfx Posted June 19, 2015 Share #8 Posted June 19, 2015 no worries, Amazon has painless returns...but this case was more like 1.5" to big in the lens with hood attached.
Winedemonium Posted June 19, 2015 Share #9 Posted June 19, 2015 I'm taking my M-P240 with 50 APO and my Q on a trip. Just picked up the Leica M neoprene case for the M. They mentioned that it fits the Q quite well too. Will try that out.

goatsby Posted June 19, 2015 Share #12 Posted June 19, 2015 How about the Neoprene Case M with short front, it has been a champ for my other cameras so far... https://uninspiredme.wordpress.com/2015/03/24/review-leica-neoprene-case-m-leicas-best-kept-secret/ Hopefully the Q falls in line with my other cameras and fits in this as well! Macberg Posted January 17, 2017 Share #13 Posted January 17, 2017 I'm taking my M-P240 with 50 APO and my Q on a trip. Just picked up the Leica M neoprene case for the M. They mentioned that it fits the Q quite well too. Will try that out. The dimensions of the M: 139 x 80 x 42 mm (without lens, which made it difficult for me to judge whether the M-Case fits on the Q) The dimensions of the Q: 130 x 80 x 93 mm (with lens, of course) I thought of buying that Case, too, but was uncertain whether it would fit the Q well enough, as it is made for the M which is about 9mm wider than the Q. And I don't know about the average sizes of M-lenses. In my opinion, it mustn't be too loose around the camera, it should really be like a firm skin around the camera. Did you try it? Could you tell us, whether that is the case with the neoprene Case for the Leica M? Or is it a bit too big? That M-Case is available in two sizes - did you buy the smaller one? Thanks for your effort!
bk* Posted January 17, 2017 Share #14 Posted January 17, 2017 @Macberg there is a video on YouTube where a guy demonstrates the neoprene M case for use with the Q here: It seems like a good fit but, I confess, I still have some doubts and am looking for a solution in this vein so I can put my Q into another bag or case without worry.
colonel Posted January 20, 2017 Share #15 Posted January 20, 2017 Did anyone try if the 4/3s size fits ? It's slightly smaller in each direction then the midsize 4.75x3x5 (4/3) vs 5x3.75x6 (midsize) Rgds
