realaone Posted June 12, 2015 Share #1 Posted June 12, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just had a nicad battery pack for the R8/9 motor drive rebuilt at Interstate Battery center, and they seemed to do a good job. It only cost about $68.00 to replace all eight of the AA battery cells, and so far it's working quite good. Interstate Battery centers are located throught the US, and some stores can replace the battery cells for you at their location, and some that don't will send your battery pack to Interstate's main service center in Des Moines, iowa to have it rebuilt and then they will return it to your local store. I went to Samy's Camera in Los Angeles and they wanted $325.00 to exchange my battery pack for a refurbished one, and I felt that this price was just too much. I'm glad that I came across Interstate and that they were able to rebuild the battery pack. So I hope anyone who needs a battery pack rebuilt will give Interstate a try at a much lower cost than going the Leica service refurbished route. I even had a Rollei 6008 battery pack rebuilt by Interstate for only $65.00, and so far I've been happy with the job that they did. 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

There is a person in Canada doing it for 100 dollars plus shipping which is expensive; I then found a place in Germany that could do if for less, including shipping, than the person in Canada. Well I lost that address and cannot find the place again, it was not easy to find the first time, so if this about Interstate is true, there is one about a half-mile from me, it may save me time and money if I ever have one rebuilt.
