wattsy Posted June 6, 2016 Share #121 Posted June 6, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a black paint 50 Summilux LHSA and the 13206 filter seems to fit fine. Not sure if it is the same as the black chrome 50 Summilux. That's interesting. I would have thought that the lens barrel and hood design is identical between these special editions. I came quite close to buying this lens as the example I tried had a lovely smooth focussing action (which my standard version of the lens bought in 2005 never had, even after many years of use) but the hassle with the hood and filters was a factor in my choosing not to buy. That and insufficient appetite for spending £3000 on new kit. ;-)

jaroopaitummai Posted June 6, 2016 Share #123 Posted June 6, 2016 Just to mention that my 13206 filter is the one that has no front thread. I know that there are 2 versions of this 13206 filter.
DBAUDUI1 Posted June 16, 2016 Share #124 Posted June 16, 2016 Hello, Did somebody try the filter: 43mm MC UV Filter For Leica Summilux E43? DBAUDUI1 Posted July 4, 2016 Share #125 Posted July 4, 2016 Hello, Did anybody try the filter ZEISS Filtre UV T* 43mm? It seems to have a thin metallic ring. Many thanks in advance. Dominique
ThirtyOne Posted July 9, 2016 Share #126 Posted July 9, 2016 It seems that a new hood would be the only real solution instead of having customers buy a special set of filters solely for use with this lens....
otho Posted July 9, 2016 Share #127 Posted July 9, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Did anybody try the filter ZEISS Filtre UV T* 43mm? It seems to have a thin metallic ring. Many thanks in advance. Dominique I use Zeiss UV T* 49mm on my Zeiss-Sony FE 35 f/2.8 lens (on Sony A7R II body). Filter made in Japan, good quality, but Heliopan SH-PMC UV is even thinnest. DBAUDUI1 Posted August 10, 2016 Share #128 Posted August 10, 2016 Hello, I have just tried the BW nano E43 filter on the summilux 35 FLE Black Chrome, and its diameter is too wide to allow to use it together with the sunshade. So it does not work, although the filter fits nicely on the lens.... Lets wait for Leica to provide a new E43 UV filter for this lens and its hood. Best regards. lct Posted August 25, 2016 Share #130 Posted August 25, 2016 Hello, I am going to try this filter: leica 13206 with a male and a female thread. I will keep you updated. Dominique 13206 is M 43 x 0.5 whilst you need an M 43 x 0.75 filter.
DBAUDUI1 Posted September 5, 2016 Share #131 Posted September 5, 2016 Hello Sir, You are correct, the filter 13206 does not work on the summilux 50 1.4 black Chrome E43 (latest release). You can not screw it on the lens, and even if you could, its diameter is too wide to use it together with the sunshade. I am going to use this lens without any filter... Best regards. jaapv Posted September 5, 2016 Share #132 Posted September 5, 2016 What about a B+W 007 filter in slim mount? At least that is a filter that is designed as a protective filter with less optical impact and tougher glass. IIRC the mount is extra-slim. lct Posted March 12, 2017 Share #140 Posted March 12, 2017 The 13417 filter should fit (see post # 21 above) but i have no experience with this lens.
