.... at 3200 m Haute Savoie (France)

Normally, I had to hike and climb to 3000 meters but it was canceled and postponed because of snow, cold (-5 ° C) and avalanche risk .... so I am doing tourism and here are some photos :)

Iduna thank you for looking and for your nice comment much appreciated :)

Iduna , the situation at 3000 meters is not the same , here is one picture

-5°C , fog and snowflakes  and avalanche risk   snow about 30-50 cms

at late of May

In front of you, mountain falls steeply and straight

Kodak Portra 400

no correction, fog and snow well reproduced by film versus digital

Leica M7 works perfectly and the automatic option is well adapted in these

conditions versus my MP (manual)

Lovely images, thank you for posting, Henry.

I have spent many happy hours in this region.  There is a fantastic, if committing, paraglider launch at Lachat in Grand Bournand.  We take off from there, and go on a tour, over the back to he Col de la Colombiére, across to the Aravis, along the range above La Clusaz, on to Mont Min, above Lac d'Annecy, then back over La Clusaz to Grand Bournand in time for a beer!

One of my favourite places in France!

Cheers

John

John thank you for your comment.

I also love this region of "Haute Savoie" (High Savoie) near Chamonix (with the Mont Blanc at 4800m) , than "Savoie" further south is less grandiose.

The landscapes are most impressive in the North !

As you already know, here a picture of almost the whole "Aravis Mountain Range" (a part of "Pointe de Persée" 2750m at left) and a part of Aiguille de Borderan 2500m, at right)  ,  taken with Macro Elmar 90 (ME) , cloudy that day, view from the road of the Grand Bornand.... just a ray of sun at the right moment :)

and "l'Aiguille de Borderan"  with "Gate of Aravis" also taken with ME 90,  in fog and clouds this morning of May 2015, view from the "Col des Aravis" at 1200 m

I hiked for 3 days with my son , and I went up to "Gate of Aravis"  where there the view is spectacular and you can see the Mont Blanc , behind this gate.
