A36 green/clear filter

As part of a wonderful gift of Leitz/Leica equipment I received a nice box with A36 filters. Included are alo the adapters SOOTF to use the screw-in filters on clamp-on lenses, and the adapter SOOEY to use A36 screw-in filters on E39 lenses. One of the filters is a clamp-on yellow filter, the others are screw-in A36 filters. They are a set of yellow, orange, red, blue and UV, which I have permanently on the Summitar 2/50mm. One of the filters puzzles me, it is a green/clear filter that can be rotated like a polaroid filter. Can an yone explain to me how this filter should be used?

Shooting on film I can't show any pictures of the box right now.

Thanks in advance, Lex

Yes Luigi, you are right, it is a graduated filter. It has a red dot to mark the clear part and a white dot to mark the green part. So is it indeed meant to tuse specifically for the part that you like to highten the contrast for? Has anyone used such filters?

Lex
