While it takes mor effort to build the body nd the lens sepeately, keeping two product lines also has its cost. danmitch Posted May 25, 2015 Share #2 Posted May 25, 2015 I too am a bit surprised by the decision to run both lines, though they are very different cameras, there is enough of a crossover to wonder as I would imagine neither sell in huge numbers. I love my X 113 and seriously considered both the X Vario and the T system for travel when I don't want the bulk of DSLR, but ended up going the micro four thirds route - I did like the T but struggled to justify the cost and had doubts over the longevity of it as a system. Cutting the X would be a real shame, putting my subconscious Leica bias aside formed over years using Ms, I found it the nicest handling and most pleasing IQ of the fixed lens larger sensor compacts and there was clearly considerable investment and development from the X Vario to the 113. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
ropo54 Posted May 26, 2015 Share #3 Posted May 26, 2015 (edited) Frankly, I wish Leica would merge the T series with the X series, so that one had auto focus option interchangeable lenses on a body with the X controls/ interface. Or, perhaps just the X series with interchangeable lenses. (I'd love to have a wide angle option on the X body). robert blu Posted July 1, 2015 Share #4 Posted July 1, 2015 As a x1 owner since its launch and recently interested in the T (because of interchangeable lenses) I think they are two very different things, aiming at two different markets: X for people who like a simple traditional camera where the T aims to people who likes that kind of interface, different from what we are used. Maybe is a way for Leica to test people reactions to an innovative product...or to test features which could later be introduced in an M camera or...
