More about the Summicron 90

I just realized, looking at my files after reading Bracconi's thread on the Summicron 90, that - next to the Elmar 50, of course - this lens had been the most "present", in all its variants, in my Fontenelle Collection.

Today, I choose to illustrate two of my favorites : the first photo refers to a version rarely encountered (it took me 15 years to find one), and I let you mates try to figure out what it is. Answer and more photos tomorrow.

The second series of photos illustrates the very first model (even if in this case the M-mount one) SOOZI with detachable hood HMOOD.

Enjoy !

Quite interesting comments ! but all wrong, of course. The most approaching is probably the one mentioning "porn"..

It is well a 90 mm, it is a Summicron but fake ! I registered it in my Fontenelle Collection as SFAKE, and it is the "famous" Chinese copy, which partnered in my collection with the Summilux 35 copy of same origin. Here are the photos.

Splendid, Luigi! Is this superb and complete set yours? I remember that it was said that the Red Flag, intended to be given as present to high ranking guests, had been manufactured in limited number. Have you any more information about it ? By the way, even if the body is said to be mechanically similar to the M4 (I personally never had the occasion to have one in hands), it looks externally like an M5...

... NO... one of the many sparse pictures of my archive... taken somewhere on the Net  (probably, an auction site)

One more question, Luigi : the body on the photo you publish has a big "20" engraved on the top plate, number that seems to correspond with the serial of the 90mm (750020) and on the white number engraved on the 35mm. Does it mean that this number corresponds to the one of the "set" ? Then, why does it appear also on "my" 90mm, next to non understandable (understandably...) Chinese characters ?

Looking to everything I had about the Summicron 90 in my archives, I came across the following series of photos of the very first I had bought - for use, before I became a collector, Fortunately enough, I had kept the original box !

The official mane of the Camera was Red Flag 20 (Hongqi 20 in Chinese) : I think this is the reason for the number engraved on the body : about the s/n of the lens... no opinion about... the history of Leitz numbers is rather complex to take my attention without  investigating also the Chinese numbering... :)
