Bobitybob Posted May 14, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) A number of members have asked if it is possible to use an unused TAN from there M240 to obtain a licence for LR6. As I had such a TAN I contacted Leica Support who asked for my camera serial number and TAN. I provided this and received the following Dear Robert Please be informed that the registration date of the camera is relevant in the owner’s area and the activation of the software. Because the TAN number ******* has not been used until now, you are entitled tfor receiving Lightroom 6. I wish you good luck with Lightroom 6. Advertisement Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Hi Bobitybob, Take a look here Can I use an unused M240 TAN for Lightroom 6?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rob_w Posted May 16, 2015 Share #2 Posted May 16, 2015 Thanks Bob. One question: the letter says "the registration date of the camera is relevant in the owner’s area and the activation of the software". Was your M240 registered before or after the release of LR 6? Bobitybob Posted May 16, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted May 16, 2015 (edited) Robert When I got my M240 in September of 2013 I sent off for the passport and entered the detalls of the camera in the Members/Owners Area of the Leica website. I'm not sure if this constitutes registration with Leica but I never attempted to download Lightroom as I already had a copy. I'm not sure if the latter is what they mean in that the camera was not registered with Adobe on the then version of Lightroom on offer. If you haven't used your TAN then it's worth an e-mail to see if you are eligable. Hope that's helpful Edited May 16, 2015 by Bobitybob
rob_w Posted May 18, 2015 Share #4 Posted May 18, 2015 Thanks Bob. I have written to Leica and will post an update here once I have their response.
rob_w Posted May 18, 2015 Share #5 Posted May 18, 2015 Quick turnaround from Leica Customer Support. All worked well with Adobe. So, after various codes, passwords and other clicks, I can confirm Bob's report of LR6 availability to anyone with an unused TAN. When I finish work today will have a look at what's new in version 6 and whether it is a significant improvement. Thanks everyone!
