rsolomon Posted June 27, 2015 Share #21 Posted June 27, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I felt the same at one point, but realized 4 lens kit isn't bad either ;-) 135mm APO and 24mm Elmar get along with 35&75 even though the bag is a small Billingham Hadley. The 24 requires a viewfinder and the 135 really does need one so investing in the EVF makes sense. Nice kit BTW

mirekti Posted June 27, 2015 Share #22 Posted June 27, 2015 The 24 requires a viewfinder and the 135 really does need one so investing in the EVF makes sense. Nice kit BTW I actually have an EVF (it fits the bag as well), but don't use it unless I work with 75mm and OUFRO combo. With 24mm I use the built in OVF as its edges are pretty much 24mm frames (maybe an issue for those who wear glasses). In certain (very rare) situations I turn the Display on to hit critical framing. I also have 1.35x magnifier which is used with 75mm and 135mm. That's pretty much it. Ideally it should be one or two lenses (35&75 which I started with), but I can put all four lenses and accessories in a small Hadley and walk around as a happy camper. Thanks. rsolomon Posted June 27, 2015 Share #23 Posted June 27, 2015 You prefer the magnifier over the EVF?,not following when or if you use the EVF at all. Not sure what OUR means. Thanks This is very helpful as I THINK I'm heading towards my copy of your kit.
mirekti Posted June 27, 2015 Share #24 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) OUFRO is an extension tube. I use it with 75mm APO and in that case I use EVF (Olympus VF-2). OUFRO is not Leica one, but this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/10mm-extension-tube-ring-work-for-Leica-OUFRO-16469Y-M-M240-type-240-M6-M7-M8-M9-/141098606283?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20da21decb I read some complained about the quality, but the one I own works like a charm i.e. no residue or any issues at all.The 1.35x magnifier is used with 75mm (not really needed) and 135mm (helps a lot). It enlarges the patch and frames and that works for me. The one I use is this one http://www.japanexposures.com/shop/accessories/ms-mag-x1.35-magnifier-for-leica-m.html and calibrated diopter at 7m. As the diopter can rotate easily I purchased a rubber O ring that is placed between the fixed and rotating part so it holds it in place (I read about it on this forum, not my idea). So, I always use the built in optical viewfinder, for some lenses with the magnifier for some without, and only use EVF (focus peaking) with 75mm + OUFRO combo.I hope this helps.
