kuau Posted April 26, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 26, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am thinking about purchasing a used X Vario with the Olympus EVF, The camera is clean but there is some dust behind the LCD, has anyone had this problem before and what may cause it? There is no dust on the sensor though. Any thoughts?
Advertisement Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Hi kuau, Take a look here Think about purchasing a used X Vario. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
waloszek Posted April 26, 2015 Share #2 Posted April 26, 2015 Perhaps there is a protective glass or plastic cover on the lcd screen und the dust might be between both??? Did you take a closer look at that??? If it's just the cover, there there is no problem in my opinion (you might want to exchange it...). Otherwise, I have no idea how dust could intrude the LCD screen... Best regards, Gerd
Manoleica Posted April 26, 2015 Share #3 Posted April 26, 2015 If you are buying from a dealer make sure you get a Warranty... If in doubt - leave alone....
jlindstrom Posted April 27, 2015 Share #4 Posted April 27, 2015 Never heard of such, but considering it has zero effect on use.. I would probably use itnto bargain more discount :-) //Juha
bernie.lcf Posted April 27, 2015 Share #5 Posted April 27, 2015 I can see three Leica X Varios for less than EUR 1500 at Leica dealers in Austria. All are in A/B (near mint) condition including box and some accessories. A couple of German dealers have mint condition X Varios for around 1700. If your offer is not significantly less than those, I'd stay away. The dealer units will usually come with warranty up to 12 months (in addition to whatever warranty is left from Leica)
goatsby Posted April 28, 2015 Share #6 Posted April 28, 2015 As long as you buy from a reputable seller that gives you the option to send it back if you are not completely satisfied, you should be good. Just don't do craigslist or PayPal gift if you have any concerns; make sure there is recourse in case things go south by using a secure payment method. jlindstrom Posted April 28, 2015 Share #7 Posted April 28, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Definitely buy from a dealer and get the warranty. And do check if there's factory warranty left on the "dusted unit". then just negotiatw price with dealer based on need to send it for servicing.. so get price down -> have Leica remove the dust & perform cla on warranty. //Juha
