From the Leica rumors site today, the M246 was registered in Korea.  http://leicarumors.com/2015/04/21/leica-m-monochrom-typ-246-camera-registered-in-korea.aspx/  This is typically done just before the announcement of a new camera.

Anyone planning on buying one.  Should be a great camera.

Umm... why? Oh, pardon me. To make money selling cameras. Other than that, there's no point.

To make money selling cameras is why Leica is in existence. That is indeed the point.  If it is not suitable for you, then nobody is compelling you to buy one.  But I suspect there will be many for whom a M240 Monochrom would be attractive (probably including me, though not yet 100% sure).  Why would anyone have a problem with Leica making money selling cameras?  If they do make money it means there is enough demand.  If they don't make money they will cease to exist.

And a Sean Reid's review i suspect.

Sean has twice now hinted that he has a "surprise" and "very interesting" review imminent.  May 12th, 2012 was when the Monochrom was announced.  Seems like Leica's three-year interval for Ms may include the Monochrom too. And what a blessed event it will be to have a Monochrom capable of using R lenses -- as surely it will.

Hell yes.The M typ 240 architecture is much more pleasant to use than the M8/M9. That said, it's quite a job tying yourself to a mast when QM2s of the original are now selling for as low as $4,800 - but I keep telling myself there is no point in buying a camera just to replace it within a year. Also, I really want to get everything down to two types of Li-Ion batteries - the ones that go in the M240/M246 and the ones that go in the X100/X100T. Shallow? Yes. But frankly, there is a stress level that goes with charger clutter (and never having the right batteries charged).

The only downside is that at 24mp in mono, it is going to very handily show up the flaws of every lens you mount to it.
