Canal and Atomic Reactor

]Last weekend we did the tour to that atomic reactor Hamm-Uentrop/ North-Rhein-Westfalia which can always be seen from the highway.

We planned for a couple of hours for searching a position at the canal. This plant is in the phase of being shut down which will be finished in a further couple of years. We tried to capture the strange situation with thepeaceful landscape, people enjoying their leisure time at the bottom of this uncontrollable doom of the danger of contamination. I'll show these in a further thread.

We had a strong mix of aprillic weather with sunshine, rainy strom and peaceful night illumination. My usual combo Canon/Yashica ML 50 mm/1.4 I cannot show here but I did a series with my Olympus EM 5 + Nocticron. All then handheld, because my tripod was occupied wih the heavy gear.

Neil,

yes, it gives an abstraqction corresponding with the ambivalnr subject. Thanks.

Dee,

thank you very much. That was the intention to show something eerie in a nice shell.

Paul,

your choice meets with mine. Thanks for stopping by and sharing this strange subject.

Stuart,

thanks. Always nice to meet you.

Bill,

this blue cast was adding to the subject as an abstraction to have a romantic veil on this eerie subject of technical monster. The stars sould emphasize this. Thanks for your nice comment.

Peter,

you are perfectly right. Thanks for the link and your comment.  The reactor is a THR (or so) kind of reactor being in the process of being shut down for a couple of years now and another decade before this progres will be finished. an engineer is in charge of the controlled of all this with his team.

Neil,

sorry, for writing in haste being cryptic: the text should be as follows:

BW is an abstraction that in this case is corresponding with the ambivalent subject. This means that here the color versions express a kind of romantic mood here and the uneasy feeling is covered whereas in the B&W version there is more freedom of interpretation. Next time I'll try a version with even less contrast but here I could not resist the dramatic sky,
