Erwin Puts has just updated his web site. His lead articles in the Home and Blog sections are new and are most interesting.

Puts' article is so very different than his previous writing that it is surprising, disconcerting. even wonderful. I wonder if he has achieved a new level.

I will come back with particulars. I am too far many hours into my day, almost expired and cannot comment at the moment. I look forward to posts here.

...His lead articles in the Home and Blog sections are new...

The lead article in his Blog, "Leica's Future", has been up for a month or so (he used today's date when he reposted). I had been waiting for him to finally write the "next story" he teased us with in his last sentence. Some parts of the Home section have appeared before, but now incorporated in a broader context.

Well I can't say I agree with most of his article.... It reads as if written by a novice at digital photography. For example, I don't talk about a cameras high ISO performance or dynamic range because I want the camera with the best specs. I talk about it because of years of experience developing raw files in Photoshop and Lightroom, and dealing with aspects of the sensors of cameras that limit my artistic choices. One goes through laborious effort to get the most they can possibly get out of a camera, and once you and run into that barrier you desire for a better performing sensor.

See photography is not about capturing reality accurately, it's about capturing what's in your mind.

The online version is difficult to read in one go. How I longed for some side-headings to mark the changing flow of ideas. Erwin certainly has plenty of well-reasoned and well-researched ideas which he shares globally. Well done, Erwin!
