pop Posted April 8, 2015 Share #2 Posted April 8, 2015 I think I usually see that message in the middle of the night - in Europe, of course - and I've always assumed that the server was busy with some administrative work, such as backing up its databases and files. Anyway, the busy period never lasted too long for my patience.

stunsworth Posted April 8, 2015 Share #4 Posted April 8, 2015 There's a backup run at I think 2am CET - that would be 8pm EST in the US.
pico Posted April 9, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted April 9, 2015 Me too. Buy some bandwidth for gosh sakes. Me buy bandwidth or the forum buy it? I cannot buy any more bandwidth because I live in an non-competitive ISP part of the USA. Bandwidth might have nothing to do with the forum's issue. It might be due to the server's lack of responsiveness, impoverished power, or method of doing backup. In my former workplace backup whacked all of us into the dead zone because the admins wanted it done in short time so they could be sure it completed before they went home. In short time we gave them a private fiber and another dozen terabytes of storage and all was good again. .
LUF Admin Posted April 9, 2015 Share #6 Posted April 9, 2015 We move to a new provider and a new server. So hopefully THIS thing will be gone. Andreas
