Louis,

A pleasant view with the warm colors, fine composition, sharpness and interest.

Paul

Much appreciated, Paul; thanks.

Louis -

Terrific. I must remind you you were only 240 miles away and you didn't drop in on me.

Hehehehe.... I am not going to DC very often; but lately, I had several trips for work. I usually try to not miss the National Mall and the museums. Where I am living now is really lacking some culture! LOL

On our last visit we went into the Library of Congress (stunning interior), the new Museum of American History, the National Archives (first time there), the National Portrait Museum (first time there), the African American Museum, a new Asian art museum (Sackler?) and the new FDR and Martin Luther King memorials. Almost exactly a year ago, and you can see them on our site. All were terrific.

One of my favorite museums in DC is the Portrait museum. The building is beautiful and the art spread in several floors are stunning! Not only the portraits, but a breathtaking reportage of the American history since the beginning!

In the garden of Smithsonian castle, there are, indeed, 2 gorgeous modern structures that are, indeed, Sackler museums. One is for the African Art and the other Asian. I know the lady who is the curator of the Asian art. She often has exhibitions of Persian miniature, calligraphy, etc that are out of this world!

Stuart, you have some very beautiful shots of your DC visit that I very much enjoyed!
