due163 Posted March 10, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) WANTED: Hi strange request here, I bought my 75 year old father a Leica Digilux 1 2 years ago as a gag gift cos he always wanted a leica , Turns out its his favourite camera . So of course it died and nowhere seems to be able to repair it ,we've contacted leica NA and they referred us to a place that couldnt fix it .Does anyone know of any location that would repair a 12 year old digital camera? , if so it would be cool to get a repair done on it. dpitt Posted March 11, 2015 Share #9 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Buying an other Digilux 1 is also an option. They are cheap! See it as a throw away camera nowadays. Edit: In most repair shops they charge a minimum of 50 Euro's to even look at anything. This almost covers the value of a used Digilux 1 now, so buying is probably cheaper than repairing. due163 Posted March 11, 2015 Author Share #10 Posted March 11, 2015 Thats the problem unfortunately , oh well , the price of progress~!
dpitt Posted March 12, 2015 Share #11 Posted March 12, 2015 See it as buying a set of film rolls, development included. Once you have done 400 shots after buying it becomes expendable, anything above will be a bonus.
