Leica D Lux 109 Battery - BP-DC15-E

Recommended Posts

The following batteries work fine with my Panasonic LX100:

- Panasonic DMW-BLG10E (7.2V, 1025mAh, 7.4Wh): expensive but more affordable than Leica's.

- Patona for DMG-BLG10 (7.2V, 750mAh, 5.4Wh): inexpensive with less capacity.

About compatibility with the DL109 see:

I have the D Lux and a Lumix GX-7. They use the same batteries so I use the Leica one, Lumix one and a generic Maxsimafoto battery from Amazon in both cameras. I have seen no difference in performance and would buy the Maxsimafoto again.

I use Panasonic battery (dedicated to LX100) and it's exactly the same as the Leica branded one. BTW, when I was purchasing my DLUX the original accessories were not available locally so that's why I bought Pana battery. Works great of course.

When I had a dlux 5, the Panasonic battery would'nt work in the leica.
It kept comming up as ' Error, none compatable battery' and shutting down.

Does the 109 really work with the Panasonic version.

Recently, while travelling in the United States, I bought a D-Lux (109) at the Leica Store in Washington DC. Disappointedly the battery turns empty after a few days or pictures. No use of flash or WiFi, Sleep Mode is on.

The battery gets empty even if it is stored outside of the camera. Thus, there is a battery problem.

Leica Technical Assistance in São Paulo refuses to replace the battery, as the camera was not bought there. Actually, it is not a Technical Assistance as neither an Amperemeter nor a Voltmeter were available to test the battery. It is just a Show Room. At least, they offered to ask Leica in the USA or Germany to replace the faulty battery.

Poor quality of the battery, that surely does not correspond to Leica standards.

Bureaucratic and complicated Customer Service/Technical Assistance that does not stand to the excellence associated with Leica products.

I hope to receive a new battery very soon and without paying any taxes or transportation costs.
