Edward Louis Marit Posted February 26, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 26, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone had any difficulties in doing the free upgrade to Yosemite? I am running 10.8.5 on a 2013 MacBook Pro. I use LR 5.7, CS6 and the full Nik collection. Printing is on an Epson 3880 using the Epson drivers with Epson inks and paper and Quadtone RIP with piezography K7. Unfortunately there is some kind of a glitch with Quadtone where you can't choose the rear sheet feeder like you can in the Epson Driver. A more experienced printer than me is running the exact same rip software and drivers but with Yosemite and he doesn't experience this issue - it's his contention that running 10.8.5 is the problem. I have resisted installing Yosemite until now due to the fear that it will badly screw up something - everything else works perfectly with 10.8.5 Has anyone had any issues with their PS, LR, files or plugins from installing Yosemite? Thanks in advance

Jeff S Posted February 26, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 26, 2015 I'm sticking with Mountain Lion (10.8.5) for now, for similar caution. A friend, however, prefers Mavericks, and he's running the same RIP as you along with Piezo, but he prints on the 4900 and an earlier 4000 series. He's also reluctant for now to migrate to Yosemite. Thanks in advance Hi Architect, I've been using my MacBook Pro 15 inch with SSD and Maverick. But I too have been reluctant to upgrade to Yosimite as I thought it might not play well with my stand alone version of PS CS6. However, I bought a New in Box, 2012 version of the MaBook Pro with an optical drive to use away from my computer station, and since it came with Yosimite, I am going to install my CS6 on it and see if it is useable. That way I can relegate the bigger Mac to my Rolltop Desk. I also downsized from my Wacom Intuos 4 to one of the small wireless models so I can sit in my recliner to PP. (I have several broken vertabrae so cannot sit easily at the desk). I was so pleased with the smaller size tablet, that I gave the Intuos 4 to a friend. Sorry so long winded. Cheers, Unkei
Edward Louis Marit Posted April 9, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted April 9, 2015 Pls let me know your experience with CS6 when you load it all in. I had heard from someone that all their plugins disappeared with Yosemite. I currently have the Nik collection and the the DxO collection, as well as Quadtone rip for piezography and I am concerned about compatibility. Also everything runs well on Mavericks so why fix what isn't broken. Thanks for your response.
Edward Louis Marit Posted April 9, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted April 9, 2015 Have managed to solve the rear sheet feed problem however - it was user error (me) [emoji50]
zeitz Posted April 9, 2015 Share #6 Posted April 9, 2015 I've kept up with every version of Yosemite since it was released in October; and that includes 10.10.3 released yesterday. I do also perform all the upgrades to LR/CS/Bridge from Adobe CC. All the software from Apple and Adobe has worked perfectly for me on a MacPro (late 2013) with 4 cores and 16 GB of RAM. My Canon printer has also run without glitch; my printing set up is not very sophisticated though.
