Could R camera users please tell me how to separate the front-top from the bottom-base of the typical R eveready case, as shown with my R4MOT? I am sure I attached a male pin into a socket at the back, but now I can't separate them, no matter what orientation I try. I don't want to pull or push in any direction too strongly.

The pin on the cap needs to be pushed upwards until you hear a click. Then it can be pulled backwards to unclip from the body.

I think this can only be done when the case is opened (cap hanging from the back)

As I don't use case for years (decades ?), I remember that there is an arrow stammed on one part.

Checked on my M case from the 1980's, it is there, this arrow can be misunderstood, and if not oriented the right way (upward ! ), I was not able to separate the two parts.

Understand it when the parts were separated, the fixing device is very clever and works well over time.
