Hello there,

I need some help about this Leica Ic that I recently bought. The camera does not have some parts, and have a little problem with the shutter (but it is going to be repaired as soon as possible). My questions are:

1) Does this camera have any accessories that comes from the soviet cameras? I know that exists a Industar-10 lens that fits the Leica Ic. But, my real point is to find a Viewfinder and Rangefinder FOKUS for this camera that is not from Leitz. I will buy one in the future, but from now I will need something cheap.

2) Where can I find two shoes for this camera? I am from Brazil, and I will try looking for a online store or repair service to buy this pieces. (I don`t think that propaganda is allowed to be posted here, so If you know a place that sells these shoes, please, send me a message via inbox).

Thanks for your time, I will post some photos of the camera bellow, so you can see what I am talking about.

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum !!!

This looks to be a legitimate Leica Ic, with a rewind knob that is definitely not orignal : would be nice to find one original : DAG (Don Goldberg) of USA has a good warehouse of parts, an they can be contacted easily : the same for accessory shoes (the original screws are probably more difficult to find than the shoes).

A cheap rangefinder, shoe-fitting, I think is a difficult to find device... in my opinion, better to find an original FOKOS, which is not so rare and even not too costly; this is partially true also for the viewfinder.... an original 50mm SBOOI can be found in the 140-180 Euro range, while Russians are typically under the 100 Euro tag : don't remember if there is a 50mm... time ago I had a Russian 35... surely you can find a Russian multifocal with 50mm... here is one just for example : Zorki Universal finder - 35mm Viewfinder Accessories - Russian Equipment

It's easy in Brazil to find rangefinders from others makers. The Walz rangefinder is very common and it's cheap.

A good technician can have the parts your câmera needs; I only don't know how much you would pay fotr it. Try Mr Celso Eberhardt in São Paulo, authorized Leica repair. Other is Medaglini, at São Paulo too. Both are working with Leica since many many years and can make perfect job - and can have the spare parts you need.

(Mr Frederico, from Optimar, died four months ago, after more than 60 years as a Zeiss and Leitz technician. But his wife has lots of old stuff there, and maybe you can get what you need. Optimar is in São Paulo, too).
