Yup 17secs. I'll double check when I get home, but for sure its a long exposure. I think if the subject is farther away, the effect of long exposure to movement is not that prevalent. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, for sure, there will be a difference in the apparent distance someone can move in a given time but I think in 17 seconds you'd expect a moving person to have moved sufficiently to blur, however far away they are. I guess the person in the photo in question must be standing still, perhaps looking at his phone or something?

Yes I think so, he or she must be waiting for a cab or an uber.

I am really starting to like my ZM 4/85mm Tele-Tessar, after an initial frustration with focusing accurately with the rangefinder. I had set the lens aside, after those early attempts, with my Monochrom 246. Last week, I tried again, with my M10 with better results, perhaps because I can see better, with the M10. Perhaps, I just need to drink less coffee. Mostly, I need to train, with diligence.

The temporary hood, which provides negligible shade, is a 43-52mm step-up ring, which will, hopefully, act to shield the threads and bayonet mount from potential light impact damage. I have ordered a pre-owned third-party hood, threaded for 43mm filter threads, which should block a bit less of the viewfinder, but probably provide relatively little shade, compared to the Zeiss lens shade.

I just took delivery of a Heliopan 46mm threaded lens hood, long version, which, with with my 43-52mm step-up ring, and 52-46mm step-down ring, serves nicely, without vignetting. To reduce bulk, a bit, I have ordered a Heliopan 43-46mm step-up ring, a quite uncommon item, from Germany.

Another nice thing about a Heliopan metal hood, is that the lens cap fits on the distal end of the hood, so is easier to reach, and keeps debris from reaching the interior of the hood.
