Jeff S Posted July 6, 2014 Share #21 Posted July 6, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) The scene is not the best. I have three lenses and I just want to figure out which one I should sell. All of them. If you have to ask us, based on this screen shot (or any other, btw), any number of less expensive solutions should suffice. otto.f Posted July 6, 2014 Share #22 Posted July 6, 2014 Ok first one is noctilux 0,95 second elmar - m third lux asph But I don´t have a favorite! I don´t know. Since I have the Noctilux the Lux is in the box and was never on the cam! The Elmar-M is so little. ???? Thanks! I'm very happy with my consistency: I own the Elmar-M, sold my Lux in favor of the 35FLE and the 75Lux and never intended to buy a Noctilux
otto.f Posted July 6, 2014 Share #23 Posted July 6, 2014 That is one way to compere 50mm's. Here is another one: they all seem oversharpened in PP
nelly Posted July 6, 2014 Share #24 Posted July 6, 2014 If lens cost was taken into consideration I think the answer would be self evident
NZDavid Posted July 7, 2014 Share #25 Posted July 7, 2014 I always enjoy looking at lens comparisons, but to me all this proves is that all three lenses are remarkably similar at f/2.8, viz. excellent. The only reason I would opt for a lens other than the Elmar would be if I seriously needed a faster one (which may well be the case).
Nordvik Posted February 28, 2015 Share #26 Posted February 28, 2015 Elmar 3,5. Jupiter 8. Planar 2,0. Nokton 1,1. Aperture/Lightroom. Welcome, dear visitor! Mornnb Posted March 1, 2015 Share #27 Posted March 1, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everybody, I´ve just shooted an unspectaculary scenario with my Leica M 240 and three lenses at f 2.8. I will just know, which of the three 50´s do you prefer and why? All three shoots ooc, with only disabling exif data in capture one. Thx Iven 3rd one. It seems to have more 3D depth/pop. skinnfell Posted March 1, 2015 Share #28 Posted March 1, 2015 I prefer 1 and 3. Nr.2 is too harsh contrast and too busy bokeh. If someone pointed a gun at me I would say nr.1 as it appears slightly less harsh in the shadows.
jedi996sps Posted March 1, 2015 Share #29 Posted March 1, 2015 I can't really tell anything from these photos at f2.8, but what I can tell you is that you should keep the Summilux aspherical and sell the other two because it is the best compromise in speed, weight, and image quality. I own a couple of fifties myself, and I understand your dilemma, but in the end, when you travel and want to take only one lens, the 50lux is the winner. My preference was image 1,2 and then 3... In regard to which one to let go, to me, the fact that you do NOT say how you love the dof of either the nocti or the creaminess of the lux, intimates that you should keep the elmar. tobey bilek Posted March 6, 2015 Share #30 Posted March 6, 2015 1. Summilux2. Elmar 3. Noctilux Same except I do not own a Noct and never will
essvaun Posted March 9, 2015 Share #31 Posted March 9, 2015 This is my two cents worth - please note I do this for fun, it's simply an opinion & the basis for my thoughts are simply what I thought of the photos I made. I'm not overly technical. In essence my comparison was: Summicron 50mm f2/0 (current non-Asph) vs Planar 50mm f2/0 vs Summicron collapsible vs other 50mm I've used elsewhere on different systems. I love the Planar but the Summicron has won me over, although I've no doubt if someone showed me shots of both & asked to pick them apart I probably couldn't. What swayed me was the using of it as much as anything else. The 'review' is more or less just what I was able to do with the lens.
Guest Posted April 26, 2015 Share #32 Posted April 26, 2015 I prefer the lowest one
Mornnb Posted April 26, 2015 Share #33 Posted April 26, 2015 (edited) I prefer the 3rd one, its colour rendering is more pleasing and more true to life, and it has a nice bright tone. The 4th one is great too, the first one is rubbish! Heavily tinted. Edited April 26, 2015 by Mornnb
