Release of 2.0.1.5 Firmware Update

This is an unexpected but very welcome modification:

New Light Metering Mode “Classic / LV disabled”. In this mode, only Classic light-metering is possible; the LV button is disabled to avoid the activation of live view by accident.

...and ties in nicely with the somewhat expected:

A “Video off” option is now available in the Set menu (see submenu item “Video recording”). The M-Button on the Top-cover is deactivated when this option is chosen. although I've only accidentally activated video twice.

This will also be very useful as there are times where I want shutterspeed and aperture fixed times:

“Auto ISO in M mode” is now offered as an option. This varies ISO sensitivity for correct exposure when shutter speed and aperture are set manually.

many goodies in here! excited!

but- (with me there is almost always a but)- now the next thing to be done is to allow the Movie button to become the ISO button... or even better let the user assign whatever function to it that they choose. It makes sense being that it is the 'M' button (multifuction) not the V button.

Direct exposure correction

An “EV correction” option in the menu enables direct adjustment.

So EV compensation can be altered by turning the thumb wheel, without having to press additional buttons.

More precisely, there is an "Exposure Compensation" option in the SET Menu allowing EV compensation by turning directly the thumb wheel.

VERY necessary +1000

I'm glad to see the horizon, finally !

just downloaded it on my mac and installed successfully. Was using firefox... I suggest formatting the card in the camera first...

At Last! Proper Auto ISO- excellent! Can't really believe people who have no use for this function- so handy!

Also pleased with focus peaking- can't be sure but it looks like I am seeing more 'peaks' on the LCD screen without needing to zoom? Not sure but it seems that way- maybe I can just see the blue easier than the red...

Playback still happens on the EVF first- that is a disappointment... It's all good: Leica left room for more firmware updates.

Drag the file from the download in Safari onto the (opened) SD card.

Anyone downloading to a Mac? I get the following message:

File not found.

Please insert memory card with correct firmware file
