mtveiten Posted December 6, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi! My shutter is locked in open position after having used the video-function today. I have tried turning the camera on/off, removing the battery, activating/deactivating sensor cleaning. Nothing works. Any ideas?
Advertisement Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Hi mtveiten, Take a look here Shutter lock up. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
StephenPatterson Posted December 6, 2013 Share #2 Posted December 6, 2013 Hit the base of the camera firmly against the palm of your hand...at this point you've got nothing to loose. Sounds like a shutter failure, with a trip to Solms to soon follow.

viramati Posted December 8, 2013 Share #4 Posted December 8, 2013 would still get it checked over by Leica as this shouldn't happen
wda Posted August 14, 2016 Share #5 Posted August 14, 2016 Taking a still image with live view activated got the shutter working again. Problem solved. A search brought me to this thread because my MP240 had a similar experience today. I tried your suggestion and it restored the shutter operation. Thank you. But it leaves me uneasy. Can you give me an update on your example and say whether you sent the camera to Leica for servicing?
