Advertisement Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Hi Hunebed, Take a look here How about a thread full of trees?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
John Z. Goriup Posted June 10, 2015 Share #582 Posted June 10, 2015 In my opinion this is much too good of a thread / subject to be allowed to lie fallow. Yellowstone National Park - changes deep below the surface of the roughly 46 mile-wide caldera are always creating new geysers and areas where steam, gasses, toxic minerals and scalding hot sulphuric water bubble to the surface of the constantly changing landscape - it's tough being a tree there. Cuthbert Posted June 13, 2015 Share #588 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) Since you guys appreciated the tree + squirrel combination I add here another shot: That I've taken without metering or focusing, I barely noticed the profile and I shot by instinct, I'm surprised to see it came out decently. That are secondary shoots, growing like the top of tree (re-iteration). Still they freak me out, it looks like somebody sawed them off and surgically re-implanted them at 90 degrees. platypus Posted July 2, 2015 Share #596 Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) These stumps are what remains of the double row of huge old pines that once formed an avenue, lining the long, curving driveway to my grandfather's house. They were planted in about 1860 a few years before construction began on the house itself. I remember them well from my childhood as being impressively large, dark and gloomy and that the west wind blowing through them sounded like the sea. Welcome, dear visitor!
