Rome, from the Palatine Hill. I recently gave a large-ish print of this picture to a silent auction at a charity golf tournament. Apparently it attracted some interest.

Fantastic photo Michael.

The photograph reminds me of those old late 1800's postcards of the area - but yours is of course so much better :).

I’m enjoying this thread. Thanks for starting it, Ece!

I love trees, especially large old ones like this plane tree at Mottisfont Abbey.

Karl, I have never seen an apple tree that productive. It's like fireworks!!.

Each of these images is uniquely inpirational to me, pushing me to get out there and look deeper; also dig into my archives (such as they are...:o) to share more.

Thank you and keep them coming please! Just loving it!

This Major Oak is a huge English oak tree near the village of Edwinstowe in the heart of Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, England. According to local folklore, it was Robin Hood's shelter where he and his merry men slept. It weighs an estimated 23 tons, has a girth of 33 feet (10 metres), and is about 800–1000 years old.

They say this tree would have been an acorn when Robin Hood was about, have you seen the Yew tree at the church in Darley Dale i think it is over 1000 years old
