Just received the following reply from Leica Camera AG/S2 und Anwenderservice:

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

we are working on the update. We will inform you when the update is available.

Mit freundlichen Gruessen / Kind regards / Meilleures salutations / Kei gu / よろしくお願いいたします / Med venlig hilsen / cordiali saluti / С искренним уважением / Cumprimentos

Hello Leica friends!
I'm interested in you superb Summicron 50/2 apo lens but i've been told on the LUF that it won't be recognized by my M8.2.
The reason would be that the lens doesn't use the expected coding (same as 135/3.4) which is recognized by the camera whilst the new coding is ignored by the latter.
Could you possibly reassure me?
I will post your reply on the LUF if you don't mind.
Best,
LCT

Nothing new i'm afraid. M8 users are supposed to take photographs instead of waiting for the unobtainium 50/2 apo i guess.
