Advertisement Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Hi kivis, Take a look here M7 black paint or black chrome?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
madNbad Posted January 1, 2013 Share #2 Posted January 1, 2013 Black paint has a shine. Black chrome is rather flat. There may be better ways but having owned an M6 TTL in black chrome and a Millennium in black paint the difference is significant .
andybarton Posted January 1, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) A used black paint M almost inevitably have some brass showing through on the wear points, especially the wind on lever end and sharp edges. The rubbing of fingers quickly removes the paint. Edited January 1, 2013 by andybarton
250swb Posted January 1, 2013 Share #4 Posted January 1, 2013 The other way to tell the difference is that a black paint version of the M7 will be considerably more expensive due to its rarity Steve

Standard has always been black chrome AFAIK.
kivis Posted February 9, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted February 9, 2017 Well I had a black paint M7 and it was so shiny that I felt conspicuous. Just recently I got a Black Chrome version. Actually more stealthy.
