Love that case! Where can I find one of those? I have a Ciesta case and it doesn't have the cut-out for the Thumbs Up grip

I find that with my Ciesta case, the grip is perfect on the M9P and although I bought a thumbsup initially to help with the grip, it's now sitting in my drawer! Also I like that there is less pressure on the hotshoe and metal to metal contact...

I see an unusual grip unless it's the angle. Tell me that is not a standard Leica grip.

You are right, that’s the MD-Grip by Photo Equip (MD-Grip® | Photo Equip). It’s nicely made, machined out of a single aluminum blank with a coin slotted screw that attaches it directly into the standard M8 or M9 base plate. The rubber-like plastic grip cover on my MD-Grip is starting to wear out and I will probably replace that with something from Cameraleather.com.

Just picked up an M9-P for myself today. It's such a timeless design. I do not miss the red dot in the slightest. I think the only Leica that can pull of the red dot well is the M-E. I'm going to sell my M9 and wait for a special edition M to complete my kit.
