Grease Near Rear Element a Problem?

I'm looking at a 2-year old Leica 50mm f/1.4, and there's grease visible in the ring between the rear element and lens housing. I can stick a q-tip or corner of a napkin in the crack and wipe it out.

Does this exposed grease mean I should pass on this otherwise excellent lens? I haven't noticed the grease on other lenses, but I really haven't been looking for it.

Thank you for your help. Joe.
