christianpsu Posted August 6, 2012 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I'm new here and new in general for Leica. I tried looking all over the net but can't seem to find an answer so turning to you guys for help. I was wondering with the 90/4 macro, can you still take pictures while it is in the collapsed position? and if you can, what is the difference while collapsed or extended in terms of picture quality or picture specs? Thanks all.
Advertisement Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Hi christianpsu, Take a look here 90/4 Macro, collapse or not?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sm23221 Posted August 6, 2012 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2012 No, one cannot take a properly focused photo with the lens collapsed. It must be extended to maintain proper focus. The lens simply collapses for convenience (or inconvenience).
chrism Posted August 6, 2012 Share #3 Posted August 6, 2012 And having extended it, don't forget to twist the front end to lock it in place, otherwise you'll think there's something wrong with its focus. Chris
MichaelRabern Posted August 6, 2012 Share #4 Posted August 6, 2012 I really like this lens. I have a soft spot for it. I don't recommend carrying it with the bottom mount lens carrier. Mine liked to hang... I have the 90cron, but this stays at the office almost always. The real advantage of the 90 macro is weight: I will almost always put this in my wife's purse. (When she is not looking) Then sometime later, about when I forgot its with us, she says "Are you going to use this (waving lens)." Cheers!
