rramesh Posted July 25, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 25, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I see Leica having some well establish lens ranges which they expanding. Noctilux - 50, 35?? Summilux - 21, 24, 28 (New), 35, 50 Summicron - 24, 28, 35, 50, 75, 90 with move to APO ASPH (35??, 50, 75, 90) Super-Elmar -14(??), 18, 21, 24 (??) I am a little confused as to which direction they will take with their lower priced ranges like Elmarit and Summarit. Will Leica drop the Elmarit line in favor of the Summarit (28??, 35, 50, 75, 90) or revamp the Elmarit with a new range for the planned EVIL. Also will they drop the WATE eventually? darylgo Posted July 25, 2012 Share #3 Posted July 25, 2012 Predicting Leica is difficult as there are so many changes in the past several years, they are unable to keep up with demand, new ownership, and recently the move to a lens that is quality first with the 50/2 Apo. Assuming a lens that sells for a higher price is more profitable for Leica, and production is limited, my guess is they will emphasize those lenses and the elmarit/ summarit line will both languish. Pure conjecture.
