sm23221 Posted July 24, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 24, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) B&H has many lenses in stock right now. Nocti's, 50 Lux etc. Probably won't last long...seems like they're catching up with demand.
Advertisement Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Hi sm23221, Take a look here Lenses in stock. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted July 24, 2012 Share #2 Posted July 24, 2012 A general observation: there seems to have been a lull in demand judging by how long good used Leica lenses seem to loiter on some dealers' sites. Perhaps we are seeing demand passing just beyond its frenzied peak.
sm23221 Posted July 24, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted July 24, 2012 Maybe folks are saving for the M10 too.
wda Posted July 24, 2012 Share #4 Posted July 24, 2012 Or upgrading lenses. Quite a few modern 50mm Summicrons have been placed on the market and that is a time-proven very fine 'standard' lens.
jquimby Posted July 24, 2012 Share #5 Posted July 24, 2012 Or upgrading lenses. Quite a few modern 50mm Summicrons have been placed on the market and that is a time-proven very fine 'standard' lens. Wonder how many people will really see a difference between the "old" and the "new" one. That old one is really no slouch. I planned on selling mine once i got the 50 summilux asph. but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Sure part of if emotional attachment I have had it forever but it smallest lightest 50 i own and it except when i need the extra stop it continues to find home on my M9P. bpalme Posted July 24, 2012 Share #6 Posted July 24, 2012 I think the supply issues are about in check. They doubled production and I think it is suppose to double again. I think the initial wave of M film users switching to digital is over and it will settle down now picking up a modest but respectable amount of new users.. thanks to bloggers and Stevie Ray Huff types. Printmaker Posted July 25, 2012 Share #7 Posted July 25, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is good. There was a part of me that got furious whenever I saw a "As new in the box" lens selling in a classified ad for hundreds or even thousands more than list price. I hope the scalpers who were buying on speculation got stuck or, better yet, lost big time.
CalArts 99 Posted July 25, 2012 Share #8 Posted July 25, 2012 The Leica lens speculation bubble has finally burst. It's time to cash in your hoarded stock of stashed lenses. Help protect yourself against further loss of your investment by contacting me immediately. I will guarantee instant cash payments as high as up to 3/4 of the original value for any 'as-new' unused specimens of Summilux, Noctilux, and certain models of Summicron. Act now before it's too late.
efreed2754 Posted July 28, 2012 Share #9 Posted July 28, 2012 And has anyone seen a 75 Summicron in stock? Had one on order with 50 Lux for almost a year now? Lux came in this week but no 75s in sight for some time per dealer. What gives?
wattsy Posted July 31, 2012 Share #10 Posted July 31, 2012 What gives? The lenses are made in batches.
jaapv Posted July 31, 2012 Share #11 Posted July 31, 2012 Maybe the simple answer is the present difficult economic climate? People have run out of money and are rationalizing their lens stable.
algrove Posted July 31, 2012 Share #12 Posted July 31, 2012 Maybe folks are saving for the M10 too. Or spending current funds on the MM and APO 50.
sm23221 Posted August 1, 2012 Author Share #13 Posted August 1, 2012 Or spending current funds on the MM and APO 50. This is probably the case. Also, I'll bet many are waiting to see what the M10 will cost.
