milsu Posted June 24, 2006 Share #3 Posted June 24, 2006 Nice photo. I think it would look better in colour. Best regards! Milos

abrewer Posted June 25, 2006 Share #6 Posted June 25, 2006 Hi John! I knew immediately who "Leicaflex" was: as William L. was already registered as "Lambroving", it had to be you! Excellent picture: full of interest and composed with care, your usual sensitivity and dignity afforded the subjects of the image. Thanks for sharing. It is a great pleasure to view your work, always. Allan

christoph_d Posted June 25, 2006 Share #8 Posted June 25, 2006 Hi John, Thank you for the prompt response, no offence was intended. As to your picture: To me there are many interesting details in it. It also depicts a slightly droll situation - has a story which is always nice. Perhaps it is a bit cluttered, but apart from a smaller DOF I would not know what to do about it. Hope to see more from you, Kind regards, C.
john79456 Posted June 25, 2006 Share #9 Posted June 25, 2006 Hi John, I am just on the rebound from Digital, so this will be a good starting point to get back into real B/W photography! A great shot with a good range of tones the grain is very well controlled. Regards, John.
rob_x2004 Posted June 25, 2006 Share #10 Posted June 25, 2006 Doesnt Agfapan make you feel comfortable. Thank goodness there is plenty still coming. Digital? Hmmmm. Why? Really nice John. Really nice.

stuny Posted June 25, 2006 Share #12 Posted June 25, 2006 John - I much prefer this B&W one to the color one you posted recently. Wonderful tones, and the informality of the "candid" are most appealing. Stuart
malcolm Posted June 25, 2006 Share #13 Posted June 25, 2006 JRMead of Sea Otter Studios, I think this works very well in b& w. The chap on the right seems to have a very unorthodox way of playing the bagpipe (?). Malcolm

MrEd Posted June 25, 2006 Share #15 Posted June 25, 2006 Hi John, the B&W is terrific. I like it a lot. Thanks for sharing. Welcome to the Forum kid. Ed.

leicamann Posted June 27, 2006 Author Share #17 Posted June 27, 2006 Thanks to everyone for posting a reply..keep in mind that I posted a "linlk" so you can see more and a more diverse selection..the link isn't posted for decoration or out of simple foolishness..or automation. The comments about the "dogs" simply points to a profound ignorance of Gaelic culture and Scottish people..... For those who spoke of the actual photograph..my thanks. I make a point of not making "derision" part of my conversation.it usually makes people feel bad about who and what they are...unless I enjoy that? If a photograph is badly excecuted..I'll say so..without resorting to "put downs and personal insults"......that I believe is a legacy of 19th century "poisinous pedagogy"...certainly we are rid of that beast..n'est pas? Cheers, JRM
