Thanks David :D

Nope nothing special. I have a Kiwi tube with a Hoya step up ring (49mm-55mm) and two Elpro 2's, that have a 55mm thread, they just screw on. Sounds like a confected set up but I think it works well and it was actually very cheap with a few ebay bargains.

All courtesy of this thread : http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/179342-improving-the-x1-x2-macro-performance/

Which I am very grateful for.

The only issue with image quality is pincushion distortion, which is visible but easily corrected in ACR with a value of -14 (for 2 Elpro 2, or -7 for just the one).

The crocus is one for the wall. What aperture did you use for the cactus shot?

Thank you David! :) I feel like I am getting the measure of the camera + elpro combo now. Still thoroughly enjoying it, I bought the camera in the first place because I had lost all interest in photography over the last few years.

Both of these were wide open (2.8). With the elpro's added DOF is super thin but more usable/versatile than you'd think.
