I haven't rented an M9 but I recommend trying the following places who *might* be able to rent one to you. (I would normally also suggest Red Dot Cameras but they're shut through to the new year.) &utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=CPqT_PjPpK0CFZMhtAodWC3Vug"]Calumet (who rent a wide range of professional photographic equipment) Leica Mayfair Richard Caplan R.G.Lewis Hope to meet you on Friday, Pete. bill Posted December 28, 2011 Share #42 Posted December 28, 2011 Ok, I shall definitely be coming, but I do have another engagement so I'll be there early(-ish) but I'll have to leave about 1 to head to the Chandos to meet my old school mates. I'll look forward to seeing you all there Regards, Bill
doyouwabisabi Posted December 28, 2011 Share #43 Posted December 28, 2011 Pete, Thanks for the post, I hope to make it down. Glenn
robnath Posted December 29, 2011 Share #44 Posted December 29, 2011 I too am a long time lurker here, and will probably attend. It will be good to finally put faces to the names and introduce myself. See you all tomorrow. Rob
Tim B Posted December 29, 2011 Share #45 Posted December 29, 2011 Sadly, after all my plans, the fickleness of family arrangements has meant that it is now unlikely that I shall make tomorrow's meeting. I shall be sorry to miss it - have a good time. Happy New Year to all. Tim
farnz Posted December 29, 2011 Author Share #46 Posted December 29, 2011 Sorry to hear it, Tim. Pete.
Dan Bachmann Posted December 30, 2011 Share #47 Posted December 30, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for putting this together - it got me out on the lovely Southbank when I wouldn't have ordinarily been there. Having already seen the Landscape Photographer of the Year, I wandered downstairs to the bookshop, bought a book on HCB to fit the theme of the day. There is another exhibit of interested at the base of the OXO Tower, Living with Mines... I plan on catching it later. Nice meeting some new faces and happy to see some familiar ones. A fine group of people (and cameras too!).
frontal_lobe Posted December 31, 2011 Share #48 Posted December 31, 2011 Dan, Pete and others - great to meet you too, and a very good day. And thanks again to Falstaff for letting me use his M4 - most enjoyable. All the best for the New year, Anthony.
farnz Posted December 31, 2011 Author Share #49 Posted December 31, 2011 Thank you to everyone who managed to make it along (eleven in all I think) and helped to make it a very pleasant day; it's a pity that the weather didn't hold up though. I particularly enjoyed the invisible* Christmas market with all of its colourful stalls and throngs of people. To newcomers Rob, Don, and Anthony a special thanks for coming along and I hope you enjoyed it enough to want to come along in the future. To those who were unable to join us I hope to catch up with you at the next one we have. Pete. *Regrettably the Christmas market had up and gone before the day of the meeting. <sigh>
stunsworth Posted December 31, 2011 Share #50 Posted December 31, 2011 Pete, it sounds as if you had a good time regardless of the market not being there. Sorry I couldn't make it, maybe next time.
Tigger314159 Posted December 31, 2011 Share #51 Posted December 31, 2011 It was good to meet with some of the forum members yesterday in London. I hope you got some shots before the rain really set in. After I left I went the National Portrait Gallery where they currently have some fabulous photos on display. Regards Don
andybarton Posted December 31, 2011 Share #52 Posted December 31, 2011 Christmas markets tend to decamp the week before Christmas so that all the stall holders can get home. I look forward to seeing some shots of yesterday
farnz Posted December 31, 2011 Author Share #53 Posted December 31, 2011 Christmas markets tend to decamp the week before Christmas so that all the stall holders can get home. Yes, that's a fair point, Andy. I was mentally aligning it with the Winter Wonderland that's (still) set up in Hyde Park because from last year's memory the stalls etc seemed to be very similar in type, variety and look. My mistake. Pete.
robnath Posted December 31, 2011 Share #54 Posted December 31, 2011 Gents, It was a pleasure meeting with you all yesterday....shame that the weather was poor. If I didn't say it when I left, I hope you all have a Happy New Year, and I look forward to meeting up again soon. Warmest regards, Rob
Falstaff Posted December 31, 2011 Share #55 Posted December 31, 2011 Enjoyed myself enormously. As always, it was fun meeting up with fellow addicts. Thanks to gravastar for bringging along his MD-grip for me to look at, but above all, a special thanks to Pete for making the arrangements and letting me try his 21mm. Seeingeye Posted December 31, 2011 Share #56 Posted December 31, 2011 As ever, a very enjoyable day out meeting friends old and new, despite the weather not fully cooperating on this occasion. I also add my thanks to Pete for organising the event. For me, these occasions are more about the people attending than anything else, so the invisible Christmas Market was a bonus! Happy New Year to all. Regards Mike
bill Posted January 5, 2012 Share #57 Posted January 5, 2012 Thanks to Pete for organising. It was grand to meet faces old (and not so old!) and new. Sorry I had to duck out but here are some shots I took beforehand. Regards, Bill
