To try and keep this thread going, and because I am going out of town for 5 days and won't be able to post a photo during that time, I'm adding a second one. This photo was taken at 180 degrees to the other one, can you name the town in this one and the hills in the first photo?

I will be able to check this thread and answer questions while travelling, just not easily post any more pictures.

Michael, the second photograph is actually facing due east.

In the spirit of keeping this thread going, I have several more photos I can post, including some that reflect the original theme of this thread, that were taken from an aeroplane, as long as everyone is happy with me posting more.

And I'm not saying where I'm going for the next few days because I will probably take some more photographs for this thread.  :)

Michael, unfortunately interest seems to be low in this. Where do you think this is? As I mentioned I have more images I can post until someone else can find something.

And my flight was canceled, I don't fly until Sunday morning now!

Hello Mike,

Too bad your flight was cancelled.

Could this be the Great Divide?

I have no idea why the density of the letters is changing.

I think a lot of people are over in the: Lead in Lenses, Nice & Turkey Threads.

Best Regards,

Michael

Michael, the place shown in these images is about 100km/67miles from the Great Divide, although the town does have a Brewery called The Great Divide.

Consider the fact that in one direction you have hills, in the other, the land is flat.

Here is one more photograph from the same place.

Stuny

This is indeed Denver, the town you can see in my second photo is the Lakewood suburb of Denver.

This is the start of the Rocky Mountains, I'm standing on Dinosaur Ridge National Natural Monument, which is on the Laramide Golden Fault.

http://www.dinoridge.org/ https://www.google.com/maps/place/Dinosaur+Ridge/@39.7689187,-105.5393747,10z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x876b83416f69ac9d:0x7369e8f36128feb8!8m2!3d39.6941666!4d-105.2

At this point you can see where the land has been tilted to form the mountains. Also here are multiple dinosaur footprints on the cliff face, these were made when this area was still a plain, prior to to mountains being formed.

Thank you, Mike.  Let's try this one:  City, please, and extra credit for telling where I was standing.
