Advertisement Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Hi UliWer, Take a look here Erwin Puts' newest Compendium nearing completion. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted February 18, 2011 Author Share #42 Posted February 18, 2011 He's fun to read, isn't he? BlogI am sorry the book is not ready in January as indicated in previous posts. More info next week. Book was to be pre-Christmas, then January; now March with "more info next week." I don't worry about dates with Erwin. I check his site daily, and I'm glad he's working. IMHO, it's always worth while to read him, no matter when.

I don't mind waiting a little longer. I know how it feels to get a book ready for publication. Towards the end a lot of self-discipline, patience, and stamina is required. Half a year goes by so fast - especially if one is outside, taking pictures, and having fun. Best, K-H.
k-hawinkler Posted February 24, 2011 Share #44 Posted February 24, 2011 I just got an email from Erwin Puts, stating: "The payment has been received. Thank you. Erwin Puts" Apparently, my little joke above didn't call for a reprisal. Whew! That was a close one. Best, K-H.

farnz Posted February 24, 2011 Share #47 Posted February 24, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Me too. It will be interesting to see whether the new compendium causes the bottom to drop out of the inflated market for the first version. Pete. Overgaard Posted February 24, 2011 Share #49 Posted February 24, 2011 Just bought one by sending a PayPal payment to the e-mail address. Looking forward to reading the history part, and I always find his writings about the individual lenses very helpful.

Noctilux4me Posted March 4, 2011 Share #53 Posted March 4, 2011 Hey guys, how long on average did it take for Erwin to send you a confirmation email? I sent him payment and an email on the 25th and still haven't heard anything. The paypal transaction was completed. Thank you
k-hawinkler Posted March 4, 2011 Share #54 Posted March 4, 2011 In my case, a little over one month. Best, K-H
farnz Posted March 4, 2011 Share #55 Posted March 4, 2011 Several weeks in my case. It seems that Erwin answered none for a period but then sent a whole batch of responses at the same time so that may be the way he operates. Pete.
chris_tribble Posted March 5, 2011 Share #56 Posted March 5, 2011 Hey guys, how long on average did it take for Erwin to send you a confirmation email? I sent him payment and an email on the 25th and still haven't heard anything. The paypal transaction was completed. Thank you Same story at my end - and no response to a follow-up email. I feel a bit unloved
luigi bertolotti Posted March 5, 2011 Share #57 Posted March 5, 2011 Same story at my end - and no response to a follow-up email. I feel a bit unloved Same for me... but, after all, what matters is that this book one day or another WILL ARRIVE....
bernie.lcf Posted March 5, 2011 Share #58 Posted March 5, 2011 Same story at my end - and no response to a follow-up email. I feel a bit unloved I'm a bit unclear about the process. Are we supposed to just send a Paypal payment? I would like to at least know if he still got a book left for me to buy and he seems too busy to respond to email. I feel like having to beg for the opportunty to pay for a book...
farnz Posted March 5, 2011 Share #59 Posted March 5, 2011 ... I feel like having to beg for the opportunty to pay for a book... No one's asking you to beg. Just buy it or not; it's up to you. Pete.
bernie.lcf Posted March 5, 2011 Share #60 Posted March 5, 2011 No one's asking you to beg. Just buy it or not; it's up to you. Pete. This is not the point. The point is: the seller is not telling me whether or not I should send payment. Reason for not sending would be: books are sold out. I didn't put in a reservation last year.
