Well, we have a draw!

Bill Allsopp and newnew both have 11 points

Followed closely in second place by carylwithay with 8 points

I'm not sure what to do here. One could say that Bill Allsopp had one more vote (6 votes total) cast for him than newnew (5 votes), but I'm not sure that qualifies as a tie-breaker.

Any thoughts on this? We do need a winner to set up the next challenge.

Perhaps a shoot-off? :D

Anyhow, congratulations to the winner(s)! Thanks all who entered and kept this challenge alive!

Regards,

Griffin

Hi Griffster

I think the usual procedure is to count up the number of first places awarded, to see if that breaks the tie, then if that doesen't do it, count up the second places.

That being said, there's no obligation on you to follow that format (it's the method used in The One Challenge and favours the highest rated image rather than one which accumulates votes as a lesser choice) you could instead, as you've indicated, say more individuals voted for one image than the other, as a measure of excellence.

Thanks to all who have participated and all who have voted for this challenge.

It was interesting and a great learning experience to see how the same subject inspired different thoughts and out of the box creativity.

I must say I have admired this shot of Bill and the others on his website with his mastery . Great kudos to him and also to Caryl who had the courage of the opening shot with his torch !

This is the first photo challenge I participate in my life and very happy so far - small pleasures do not always make the "great(est) photos", but as Diogenes said " Stand out my sunlight" ... such that I can take MY pictures !

Thank you all folks for your congratulations. I am sorry to post a late answer due to a Very much regretted loss in my family just before X-mas.

Caryl,

The picture has no post processing masking. The mirror is edited by an Italian furniture company inspired from the shape of the "Venus of Milo" in the Louvre museum in Paris.

The camera was placed on a tripod between the window and the mirror in such a way that the top of the window came flush with the shoulders. The lower part of the window was hidden by the flower tissue corresponding to the hips of the Venus, forming a skirt. The trees in the garden seen thorough the window are reflected in the mirror.

Exposure was made fully on the trees' lighting , therefore darkening the wall on which the mirror hangs.

Voila.

Best
