LEICA HISTORICA

Recommended Posts

JC, a very interesting site, just a small typo on the M3 page, it says that production ceased in 1956 at 1158995. I think that should be 1966? I have 1158677 from new, and I also used to have 1158466 (but sold it some years ago), both were bought new in 1968 in the Canadian distributors 'close out' sale when the M4 was introduced. The only departuire from 'standard' is that on both mine there is/was no collar surrounding the lens change button.

I always find your items absolutely fascinating, thank you!

Bravo, Sir! You have provided us with a first-rate resource.

Pete.

PS, JC, It is gratifying that my acknowledgment of such a worthy endeavour as the Leica Historica should mark my 6,000th post.

Hello,

for the interested people, I joined together a big part of the information contained in A little in this new site :

LEICA HISTORICA

You can increase the pictures using control +

Hope you will like it !

What an excellent forum! New to the Leica, I have found some very useful information. However, I am confused that my Leica s/n 52361 is given as non-standardised - but it bears the standardised marks (little "0" and black plug).

Could this be a non-standardised body that has been upgraded? Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks.
