My warmest congratulations Jan! A worthy winner. This was a tough challenge and it was fascinating to see how people approached it.
My story is simple; I had an afternoon meeting in my City office, so set off early with the intention of mooching around for a while by the Bank of England, Lloyds, Leadenhall Market, etc, fully expecting to see the odd uniformed official. I was starting to lose hope, having only taken a grab-shot of a couple of road sweepers (Stretching the brief!) when I chanced upon these two. I strode straight up to them and asked if I could take their photo. The shorter of the two immediately started posing, with a big smile. The taller, in spectacles, was much more wary. "Why? What's it for? Why us?" I explained that it was for a competition, and waved my IID at them encouragingly. I snapped off a couple of shots while he pondered my reply, then said "Alright then". The final, posed shot was frankly awful, but I had my shot in the can already. I thanked them and walked off to a cheery "Mind how you go". I was left wondering if they had been co-operative because a) I had approached them directly, with a smile b) I was wearing a suit or c) I caught them off guard. In any event I hope I have proved that not all PCSOs are camera-phobic control freaks. Regards, Bill
