Forth Bridge #2

Standing not far from the railway bridge is the road bridge. Evidently this may be coming to the end of its useful life, there is some corrosion in the suspension cables.

There are plans to build a new bridge near this one.

With the right equipment, you can hear the individual steel wires snapping. Unfortunately, they only installed the listening equipment recently, so they have no idea how many have already gone.

Good job they have taken the toll off - you wouldn't want to think that there was a chance of ending up in the drink AND having paid a quid too
