Michael Hiles Posted June 26, 2014 Share #2 Posted June 26, 2014 (edited) Thanks. This Mercedes (W123) was one of the best cars anyone ever made. Particularly with the 4 cylinder diesel. My 1977 240D was wonderful - reliable, economical, excellent handling and stability, comfortable, durable, VERY long lived. If I lived in a gentle-winter climate, I would still be driving it. Sparkassenkunde Posted June 26, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted June 26, 2014 Thank you all for your feedback! Yes indeed, this is a real classic. I wish I had more time, as such an old car needs more then diesel and water It would be interesting to see how long those modern cars with all the electronics will last... Stefan2010 Posted June 30, 2014 Share #6 Posted June 30, 2014 as such an old car needs more then diesel and water Don't spoil the car with diesel, they take petrol in Jordan Private use of diesel cars is prohibited there. I remember years ago when we went around for a week all over Jordan, we had a really nice man as a taxi driver with an old W123 200. We changed driving seat on long distances, even with 600.000km the car run smooth
Sparkassenkunde Posted July 1, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted July 1, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, you are right. A friend of me, who lives in Amman, told me about this. But as I never had to fuel up a car in Jordan, I forgot about it
