Hank Taylor Posted April 16, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Model year 1955 saw the Caribbean line, now with V8 engine, fully adopt the Senior Packard line styling; the car was also available in two or three-tone paint patterns. Designer Richard Teague succeeded in restyling the old Packard Senior body into a sensational, modern-looking design. The single hood scoop was split into two units. The car also received Packard's torsion level suspension. Production for 1955 stood at 500 units. My father sold Packards in the 50's and as a young HS student enjoyed the pleasures of sneaking this sleek convertible out on a warm night with a hot date. Those were great memories! hank Welcome, dear visitor! fotografr Posted April 16, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 16, 2014 My father loved Packards and drove them until they went out of production. This is him with my mother and the 1939 Packard he owned when they got married. My apologies for this probably not being a Leica photo. Welcome, dear visitor! Photoskeptic Posted April 25, 2014 Share #8 Posted April 25, 2014 Actually I used to see quite a few of these in the 60's. Guess they've all dried up now.
