hamey Posted February 28, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 28, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Some more stuff taken some years ago. These shots are taken with the Leicaflex SL and Kodachrome 64. I hope you all enjoy these images as I do. Having so many slides it would be impossibe for me to exhibit all on this forum, spanning over 40 years in my Railway career, I loved driving and still do however these Locomotives are gone only but for the memories. Thank you Leica and may slide film live forever. Ken. Welcome, dear visitor! pauledell Posted March 1, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 1, 2014 Ken, An excellent series of the trains of the past. I wish I had photographed all the railroad scenes I was around during the many years my Dad worked on the railroad as a track maintenance supervisor. I had the experience of riding in the cab of a steam locomotive one day when I was a little squirt. Paul
Berth Posted March 2, 2014 Share #3 Posted March 2, 2014 EMD, Alcoa. What more can a guy want?
hamey Posted March 2, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted March 2, 2014 Thank you Paul, I suppose your Dad would have loved these machines going everywhere recording track discrepancy, I have a lot respect for those men working in all weather conditions to keep the track in good order. This is one machine I have never driven, this shot was taken back in the 80's. R4 and the 35-70mm 3.5 Vario Elmar with Kodachrome 64. Ken Welcome, dear visitor! hamey Posted March 2, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) EMD, Alcoa. What more can a guy want? Not much Berth. The men at Electro Motive (EMD) knew what they where doing, a true American Classic. It was always a privilege to be in command of these Fabulous Engines. There are still a few ( around 5) working in freight service in Australia, testimany to their designers and builders. Long may they live. Ken. klaush Posted March 2, 2014 Share #6 Posted March 2, 2014 Ken, I enjoy your pictures. When I was younger I photographed the last running steam locs here. That was about 1977. My grandfather was a driver of locomotives. Klaus

mrware Posted March 5, 2014 Share #8 Posted March 5, 2014 I especially like the last one with engine 4477. The vivid colors, the clouds, it's a wonderful photo.
