Thanks guys, I saw this couple setting at the other end of the restaurant and had only my 20mm, couldn't get closer. Couldn't help but laugh when I spotted them knowing it would make a great picture with the right title.:)

Best regards,

Hank

Hank,

This is hilarious. Life is certainly evolving into the digital world no matter what we do. A simple warm conversation has been taken away by the impersonal hand pecking of text messages on those blasted Smart?phones.:D

Paul

You are so right Paul, The smarts phone are already taking away the pleasure of the touch it's now replaced by the vibrator left on.

They're possibly texting with a third person who couldn't make it in time. That's what my son and his GF did from time to time.

Or they're taking pictures of Hank and the black box in front of his face :)

Appreciate all the comments but lets face it, its all FaceBook's fault, romance has taken a back seat... On second thought, maybe that's where romance should start, in the back seat.

love it...I'm probably in the minority but I never title my work (other than here)..I rather have the viewer decide for themselves what they think is going on in the picture.

I always find it interesting to hear people's interpretations when in fact we really rarely or ever know what really was going on in the frame..Yet we feel it's 'sad'..Maybe they just got amazing good news at the same time (or bad news)...

Thanks for a point to consider with regards to titles and an interesting one at that; however I couldn't help but inject my interpretation what I saw that morning.:)

Of course there are two camps on this: those who feel this digital version is a pathetic and pale substitute for the real thing, distant, disengaged, devoid of the breadth and depth and subtleties of "the real thing."

Then there are those who fight back, pointing out the convenience of the modern digital way. They argue the other camp needs to wake up, and put down their semaphors and tin can telephones--it's digital and it's also "real."

It's a great photo commentary on our times.

Your comments and point of view for both sides is an excellent example of point and counter point, well said. And thank you for your approval of my picture.
