sometimes it is fun to watch other photographers at work. It is a pleasure also because in such a city you won't feel uneasy as an outsider because people are so busy with taking pictures themselves. This is the series of the European type of species, where as the Asian type I'll post later on.

all with Olympus EM5 + Nocticron

all at Charles' Bridge

Iduna,

These fine pictures remind me of the many times of back aches and fatigue with the DSLR and a battery of lenses not to mention a feeling of self conscientiousness. Now I am liberated with one M6 with two lenses and my trusty D Lux 4 while the DSLR's sit in their carrying case.

Adam,

many thanks. I am glad you like that one. One has to go out constantly to improve the output and lern to see those situations but then only that and nothing els should e focussed on...

Paul,

you are right and also I more and more take only my Olympus with 3 lenses max, and those are also small (the nocticonr is a heavy one but that is ok). But on major trips I take my Canon 5D MKII as well because there is much lief in it and then 2-3 small R lenses is fine. I do not take any Canon lens now because I do not need AF or stabilisation which makes every Canon lens so bulky.

what I can't stop noticing is that how brand new looking all that heavy SLR gear is on most people. Seriously, there are a lot of people out there on holiday with brand new cameras with lots of gear. Somehow I almost never spot those cameras and all that gear being carried around again when they are a few years old.

I read in a dilbert's predictions book once, he was saying that in the future, marketing will be so good, once you see an advertisement you will have no option but to buy whatever product it is. I think it's the future now.

Happy new year everyone!

gnpwdr,

thank you very much for your response and thoughts. I think you are right, that there are many people carrying their bulky gear and those usually know what they need it for and money is also there. In Prague specially there are really many photographers. The Czech Rebublic has developed into a centre for the film industry because locations are superb and shooting there is comparably pricey. The shots in the series all are from the Charles Bridge where people start shooting as early as 6:00 a.m. or 6:30 to get the Chance of smooth golden light. During daytime it is so crowded and everybody is shooting around.

And thank you for your photos and explanations.. I am actually in Prague, moved here for a bit of a Euro-adventure mid last year. I love the architecture, crowded streets in old and new town square, the interesting cultural contrast between the inner city areas and the suburbs. (makes me wish I was a talented street photographer more) . I believe there is a series here somewhere covering the outdoor Flea Market in Prauge, it's very unique.

As you mentioned, film industry is very active here, I often see film crews on my local streets, filming movies or tv series.

Take care and thank you again for the photos, hope to see more.

gnpwdr,

thanks for your response. I wish you a very pleasant stay in Prague. I'll be revisiting the city by the end of March for a couple of days. I hope then being able to see a few more buildings from inside and hope to enjoy the Smetana Hall etc.,Theatre, churches and Juvenile style buildings. Take care.

Hello Iduna.

What a wonderful set this is.Colourful characters ready for a serious attempt to challenge the Scheimpflug principle and maybe looking for a decisive moment. :D

I also think they might have to book a chiropractor appointment. But I love this set.Great colour, topic composition Bravo : John Basso.
