Default Women's Soccer

As Andy Barton suggested, sports that are do not have wheels in them are very uncommon here. Today I decided to get some fresh air and shoot a bit of University soccer. All of these were with the DMR and 400mm lens.

Interesting. The ladies do not seem to be quite as airborne as the gentlemen (in your other posts).

Nice series. I'm a recently retired NISOA (College) Official and it brings back memories. Thanks for sharing. John

Here are a couple more for you Andy. I only shoot soccer about once a year, so I only have shots from this one game.

Rob

I have to say I'm so impressed as to how you've got interesting composition as well as reporting the event - wickedly sharp and well exposed, too

Bravo Robert!

Your sports shots are top-notch. I wish you took the photos for all my favorite sporting mags!

Great colors from your kit, that's what impresses me the most...that and the perfect exposure on every one of them.

Thanks for sharing!

Allan

I shot quite a bit with a Canon 400mm f2.8 IS and while it can be sharper than the Leica 400mm, it didn't give that 3D look. Incidentally, the Leica 400mm APO was sharper at 2.8 than the Canon. The Canon got sharper than the Leica between f4-f5.6, but the Leica still had the 3D look. It might be that the Canon gets the coarse detail sharper, while the Leica has a more refined overall sharpness.
